What is a Youth leadership academy?

Education for Tomorrow Alliance is excited to partner with local community members to host our annual Youth Leadership Academy for High School Sophomores and Juniors in Montgomery County, TX.  During this week long academy, students will have the opportunity to meet community leaders, develop new leadership and personal skills, explore their strengths, prepare for their future and interact with other students from their community.

• Tuesday, July 8th - Thursday, July 10th, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
• Friday, July 11th, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

Cost:

• $125 program fee- this covers lunches, snacks, supplies and a program t-shirt.
  • There is a $25 non-refundable application fee. If you should apply and no longer be able to attend, you must request a refund prior to June 20, 2025 at 5:00 pm to receive a $100 refund. 

PROGRAM BENEFITS

• Introduce students to leaders in our community
• Helping students develop the skills and tools to face everyday challenges
• Develop and strengthen personal and professionals skills
• Learn about and give back to their community 
• Supporting each other to be better leaders

ELIGIBILITY - To be eligible, a student must demonstrate interest and must meet the following criteria:

• Be a 10th-grade or 11th-grade student in the Fall of 2025
• Attend school or live in Montgomery County, TX. If you have questions about your eligibility please reach out to EfTA.
• Be in good academic standing 
• Be able to attend the entire week long program (July 7th- 11th)
• Submit a complete application and program fee. 
• Submit an essay describing your future plans (Details can be found within the application.)
• Submit a letter of recommendation within one week of submitting your completed application

Please note:

• This program is first come first serve with limited spots. You must submit all required documents and application to be considered for the Academy. 
• We do not encourage students to attend this Academy two years in a row. The curriculum is the same for both grades and therefore the student will have similar, if not the same experiences both years.
