Education for Tomorrow Alliance was created in 1989 as a project of the The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce and local science and technology professionals who wanted to encourage the next generation of workers, especially in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. Education for Tomorrow Alliance eventually became a separate 501(c)(3) with the focus of connecting business and community volunteers to empower tomorrow’s adults.
The mission of Education for Tomorrow Alliance is to cultivate education and community partnerships that advance student success. EfTA fulfills this mission through Career Connections, Future Focus, Next Generation Leadership, the SCI://TECH Exposition, and the Student Internship Program, all designed to give local students hands on learning opportunities in the STEM fields and beyond.
Education for Tomorrow Alliance programs are heavily dependent upon strong business and education partnerships. Montgomery County schools are vital partners. Currently, students from the following schools and districts participate in EfTA programming each year: Conroe ISD, iSchool High, The John Cooper School, Legacy Preparatory Christian Academy, Magnolia ISD, Montgomery ISD, Rubicon Academy, St. Anthony’s of Padua Catholic School, Sacred Heart Catholic School, Willis ISD, The Woodlands Christian Academy, and The Woodlands Methodist School.
In addition, businesses and professionals provide critical financial and volunteer support to each program. EfTA serves as an ex officio member of the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce and The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce, which both offer support to EfTA. Our internship program depends on our relationships with organizations large and small who take student interns each year. Given that our mission is to connect the business and school communities, we exist to facilitate connections and opportunities for students.
