The Education for Tomorrow Alliance team is excited to host the annual Youth Leadership Academy for high school sophomores and juniors in Montgomery County, Texas. During the three-and-a-half days of training, students will have the opportunity to meet community leaders, develop new skills, explore their strengths, plan for the future, and interact with other students.
The 2026 Youth Leadership Academy will run Tuesday, July 7 to Friday, July 10. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday will run from 9 am to 3 pm at the Lone Star College - Montgomery Maverick Conference Center. The Friday session will run from 9 am to 12:30 pm with an optional volunteer opportunity from 12:30 to 2:00 pm at the Montgomery County Food Bank.

To be eligible, a student must demonstrate interest and must meet the following criteria:
Be a high school sophomore or junior in the Fall of 2026
Attend school or live in Montgomery County, Texas. If you have questions about your eligibility please reach out to EfTA.
Be in good academic standing
Be able to attend each session
Submit a complete application and the $125 program fee. (Need-based scholarships are available. Please speak with your school's College and Career Counselor for more information.)
Please note the curriculum is similar each year. It is recommended that students attend the Youth Leadership Academy only once.
Applications include short answers, an uploaded essay, and a teacher recommendation letter. Spots are limited. Education for Tomorrow Alliance will start a waitlist once capacity has been reached.
