Our Career Connections program offers monthly career development programming at Conroe, Grand Oaks and Oak Ridge High Schools to help students answer questions that they have regarding different career fields, education options, etc. Professionals participate in career panels to share their life experience and expertise with 10th and 11th-grade students. Whether students have a detailed plan for life or are still trying to figure out what happens after high school, the insights of volunteers in the workforce can prove valuable in helping encourage and shape tomorrow's leaders.
With the ever-changing COVID-19 situation, we are offering our Career Connections program online via Zoom once a month for the spring semester and we invite you to be part of our panels! Students from all three schools will be invited to participate.
Sessions will take place on the following dates from 11:15 am - 12:45 pm via Zoom:
Tuesday, February 2, 2021
Tuesday, March 2, 2021
Tuesday, April 6, 2021
Please sign up for only one, as we want students to hear from a number of different professionals. Once volunteers have signed up they will receive a confirmation email with Zoom links from Corinne Coulter, Program Director at EfTA.
All students interested in participating in the Spring Career Connections Sessions need to speak with their College and Career Counselor.
Conroe High School - Ms. Beckham
Grand Oaks High School - Ms. Stadick
Oak Ridge High School - Ms. Gibson

Career Connections has been an incredible experience for the kids on our campus. I love the encouragement students receive, as well as exposure to careers that aren't necessarily mainstream. Our parents really appreciate us giving their child the opportunity to grow in different ways while they are here at school. The adult participants from the community have experiences that can really influence kids to think about the future in a hopeful, positive way instead of being afraid that they do not know what they want be when they grow up. All of the things they learn including setting and interview skills are things they can take with them the rest of their lives!"
